gratitude

Thank You for Your sacrifice of coming down from heaven to walk this earth in this limited body of flesh; thank You for Your sacrifice of having to live with us fallen creatures whom insulted, cursed and spat on You; thank You for Your unfailing love, patience and wonderful teachings that we may know this God who has walked as us and understands us; thank You for your sacrifice and death on the cross for one such as I—this abject, broken, unworthy sinner— for picking me up from the miry clay and setting my feet upon the rock, for restoring me and calling me Your own.


My only response to Christ's love which came through the lyrics of that song (it is new to me; I can't remember its title!) was tears that flowed so freely; for I was free indeed.
