week uno

School's in again tomorrow! Am quite excited, save the fact that I'm more nervous to be playing piano for chapel despite barely touching any keyboard in the past two months. Ahhh.

Week one of being a hostelite has been wonderful, albeit sickly. Dust mites tackled me in the face the moment I stepped in and my nasal passages became as leaky as the sky outside. So it was non-stop sneezing for a good four days, and on the fifth the flu bug finally out-played the dust mites and a 38.6deg fever took me down the entire weekend. Which was, really, a much, much, much needed few days of forced rest from the multitude of activities that were happening. Well, I did shoot 30mins of hoops with J and the ever-obliging S in an attempt to sweat some more out, but the fever came back with a vengeance that night. Today I'm 80% well—just purging globs of phlegm from my system and worrying about permanently destroying my throat with all that death-metal-esque hacking noises.

Sickness wasn't the entire package however—I'm settling in real nicely with my roomie, the delightful A who's just a year older than me (she contracted mysterious allergies whilst I leased the bugs), and E has been our most regular visitor and we've stayed up almost all night to chat (our only chance before the school madness rushes in). I've also washed and hung my clothes, made my own (instant) meal, spent time with the Lord, did some required readings and even nosing a non-school related book with a hot mug under my quilt in the cool—basically doing things at my own time and pace with a newfound sense of responsibility... I love it.

That said, I still do miss my family, especially ickle, I do!
