scales

too often we tend to carry our baggage from the past into the present and tie knots upon ones already existing. why is it so natural to base our reactions to what may seem like 'similar' events according to our experiences, and because of old wounds and the fear of being hurt once again refuse to allow any healing to take place? or to give ourselves a chance to look beyond what may seem to be (especially on a lack of information)? where do defense mechanisms begin, and end before we build a hedge around ourselves? and when that happens, what are we fixated on—the Lord's hand and sovereignty over the things of man, or man's constant fallibility and inability?

whatever happened to trusting in His love, His goodness and His community?
